Activities – what you can do, see, experience at the Caribbean...

Something special for all generations, sportsmen, married or single, for the lovers of peace or for adventurous people, for those who like to have fun as well as for those who prefer lazing around.

FOR SPORTSMEN:

Yachting – the Caribbean is the real dream for every yachtsman. Perfect weather offers all-year-round stable trades, the near equator guarantees fixed sea and air temperatures. During the summer the tropical storms occur, which rarely can change to hurricane. Most of the yachtsmen therefore come to sail in winter time. It is advisable to adjust the voyage according to the number of members as well as to the experience of the crew. You can find here safe and easy to navigate places for the beginners as well as it is no problem to set and arrange exciting long journeys for the experienced yachtsmen.

Tracking – For the lovers of tracking there is a numerous amount of ways of spending the time outside the boat, in time between the voyages. We recommend mainly the volcanic islands as a perfect place for various trips and climbs. You can choose various trips. From relatively simple tracks to waterfalls and small lakes, where you will wade the river and climb on the big stones against the flowing river stream directly under the waterfalls, up to really demanding all day long tracks to the volcanic craters, which hide inside various unusual beauties of our planet. You can walk with the guide on the tribal paths, that you would hardly find by yourself, once through the heart of the jungle, just in the air walking on the pleated branches of the trees, other time on the wall, where the sulfur is leaking from inside and where the country looks like on the Moon, directly to the unique treasures of Mother Nature, which are laying here on every step you make. We have been cooperating with the experienced local guides for a long time, who will show you all of it in their typical nice way. You will feel comfortable, safe but adventurously at one time. We will plan the trips according to your expectations and difficulty you prefer.

Kite boarding – At the Caribbean there are ideal conditions for this more and more popular sport there. Every island offers preferred combination of the waves and the wind all year round. Especially the Atlantic sides of the coral islands are very popular among the kiters. Stable strong wind and waves of various sizes insure good conditions for the beginners as well as for experienced lovers of the kite boarding. Kayaking – possible on volcanic islands, where a number of rivers with the waterfalls occur and water falls there through canyons created by the lava stones and landslips many centuries ago. The best conditions are on Dominica and St. Vincent, on the French islands Martinique and Guadeloupe there are good conditions as well.

Surfing – the Caribbean is not primarily the surf destination, nevertheless you can find some places which are very popular among the surfers. The French islands and Bequia offer good conditions.

Scuba Diving – for divers „ship-wreckers“ especially the Grenadine Islands area is a perfect paradise. In this area many ships wrecked due to either numerous shallows or reefs, or due to bad weather, mainly during the summer time. The wrecks of modern as well as of ancient ships can be seen here. Some of the sunken ships, that carried the Spanish gold on board, have not been found until today and the location of their ship-wreck was just next to the shores of the Caribbean Islands. Just you might be the lucky one during your diving adventure! For those, who prefer the world of sea fauna, we recommend especially the sea park of Tobago Cays, which is the home of protected green turtles. It is not extraordinary to experience here diving with the great turtles or dolphins. Various species of sharks live here and if you are lucky you can see them as well.

Snorkeling – snorkeling is possible practically everywhere. Except big harbors, every anchorage offers beautiful views of the undersea world. It is easy to observe lots of fish, turtles, starfish and other animals in every inlet. Of course, there are also renowned places there recommended by us as well.

Cycling – Martinique and Guadeloupe are also islands with very good infrastructure and therefore it is possible to practice the road cycling there. The other islands are passable very well on mountain bicycles. majority of roads are not in the best order but you can find there easy as well as very difficult traces with parts of steep rises and falls perfect for mountain bikes.

Sports fishing – most successful when practiced directly from the ship during crossing passages. You have to only choose the right fish-bait and you can trail even two baits from the stern. On agreement made in advance with the captain it is also possible to borrow a motorboat, that is at the disposal on the ship and to „go“ fishing to any inlet to try your luck. And you will not wait long. Barracudas, tuna fish, dolphin fish, king fish, dorada fish or mackerels are the most often draught there. It is also possible to catch Tarpon fish, which is said to be the most aggressive predator fish. Fight with Tarpon is considered being a life experience even for ambitious fisherman. Take with you your favorite equipment. Fish-baits and drag lines are at the disposal on the ship.

If you still miss your favourite sport among options describe above, do not worry. We are sure that you can do it anyway in Caribbean and we will provide you with the necessary information and equipment.

FOR THOSE, WHO DO NOT LIKE SPORTS:

In case you rather prefer restful holiday full of relaxation, there is nothing easier for us than to fulfill your wish. The time between passages spent on the islands might be the opportunity to enjoy leisureliness and relax in Caribbean. For instance a day spent at the white beach...only you alone with the schnorkel and glasses, a sun lotion, a book and a glass of chilled punch...after breathtaking sunset, evening walk to some of the local pubs for delicious sea-fruits and then visiting the bar with stylish reggae party and one more glass of punch with friends....all this could be the right Caribbean relax for you. It is only up to you and your ideas and expectations.

FOR DATED-UP:

Twosomes will find many romantic places and experiences there. Just for imagination...small villages located at a bottom of volcanoes called „scrues“ offering relaxation in nature sulphur spa for (not only) amorous couples for a favorable prices where you can stay in total privacy and experience romance directly in the heart of the rain forest. In addition the sulphur springs have healing and rejuvenating effect, this is why local women as well as men have so beautiful skin without wrinkles. Observing the breath-taking sunsets might be also very romantic experience. Every day is unique, the sky draws different original picture every time. If the weather is cloudless and clear you can observe „green flash“, the optical delusion which occurs during the sunset, when the last ray of the sun creates green-white light on the water level. It is only a moment, but it is very unique experience.

FOR SINGLES:

Make a new friendships and contacts with people who have the same interests. Not only singles might find here a countless number of possibilities for having fun and meeting both local people and people from the entire world. Local people are, probably due to the environment they are living in, very friendly, open, sociable and mostly not in a hurry. Their behavior has very calming effect. The „Caribbean time“ flows in another way than the European one. Nothing seems to be hectic or stressful. It is opposite. Therefore, this is the ideal place where you can leave you daily problems behind and just for a while enjoy your free time in different style. And it is only up to you what style it would be.

FOR THOSE, WHO ENJOY HAVING FUN:

Here we introduce a number of tips on the locations which are worth visiting, when you travel down the Caribbean. From this point of view, the Caribbean is the place where something is happening all the time. On each island local events are being held practically every day, for instance reggae party, street party, barbecue or different jam sessions of local musicians. National festivals and carnivals, typical for the whole Middle and South America and very famous as well, belong among bigger events which take place here. For instance the shrove carnival lasts nearly whole February. The festivals use to start at different time on each island and are of variable length. The most known is the one in Rio de Janeiro of course, but in the same fashion the carnivals have being run down the whole Middle and South America. Besides the carnivals, many other festivals are being held here. For instance Vincy Mass is very famous, which is basically the Caribbean beauty queen election joined by world famous musicians´ productions. It takes place on St. Vincent Island at the end of June. Creole music festivals are popular as well and take place often, mainly on French islands. Those who love jazz can enjoy it for instance on Bequia Island, which is famous for this type of music and musicians. In short, local people here celebrate something all year round. It is rather probable, that during your voyage you will visit some of the festivals and you will experience local pleasant and friendly culture and traditions.

FOR THOSE, WHO ENJOY GASTRONOMY:

Taste Creole cuisine, which is quite exotic for us, mainly by combining fruits with fish or crabs. Bananas have long tradition here. In Caribbean, forty kinds of bananas ripen all year round. Approximately, a half of them are sweet, second half are sweetish and they taste more like potatoes and according to it they are treated in local cuisine. Potatoes are used often here as well and this is no surprise cause they come just from here originally. But compared to our potatoes, local potatoes are of numerous kinds and tastes. It is common to use also different roots and other interesting side dishes. for instance jam or breadfruit. It is interesting, that local people use to despise the breadfruit, in spite of its delicious taste and numerous cooking possibilities. Most probable explanation for it is that the breadfruit used to be typical food of slaves. Using of coconut or coconut water or milk is also very frequent. Regarding meat, local people do not eat beef or pork too often. It is quite expensive here and it is available only frozen. On the other hand, chicken meat as well as fish, land crabs or sea fruit are popular here. Fruit ripens all year round here and you can buy it for very favorable prices. Regarding vegetable, planting conditions here are a bit worse, higher care is needed and therefore the prices are higher but still not higher than for instance in Middle Europe. Fruits and vegetables are represented in plenty in Creole cuisine and together with fresh fish or lobster it might be an original culinary experience. This and more is offered by the local gastronomy...you can enjoy it in local pubs while listening to the reggae rhythms and leaving everyday problems behind just for a while. Taste real Caribbean rum, homemade fresh juice or real cocoa.
