A repellent and a forehead-light is considered being necessary. Further please do not forget a towel, sun lotion with high UV factor and sun-glasses. And of course take with you things of your daily use like drugs, cosmetics etc. Cameras and recorders or phones are possible to recharge directly on the boat (12V, 220V), the Wi-Fi and telephonic signal is available on majority of islands. Please pack your things into the bags, do not use suitcases.
The divers will bring on them their equipment. We will arrange the bottles and sink stones. You can of course borrow the whole diving equipment at local diving centers. Regarding other sports equipment, you can bring it on you (after mutual agreement) or you can borrow it in place as well.

CARIBBEAN PRICES AND FURTHER INFORMATION:

All calculations described above are rough. It depends only on you, how much you will spend and for what. Food and drinks – approx. 200 EURO/14 days /person, berthage and customs fees, fuel, water and gas – approx. 80 EURO/14 days/person.

Food – we recommend taking with you especially long-keeping meat products and cheeses, which are not very popular in Caribbean and therefore the prices are rather high. Majority of food stuff (in shops as Carrefour) is of similar prices as in Europe. Vegetables is a bit more expensive, on contrary fruits is cheaper especially local exotic fruits. Water, petrol and cigarettes are half cheaper, alcohol (rum) is by ľ cheaper compared to Europe.

Standing with the yacht - standing in Marinas is about 50 EUR per night and boat in maximum. Standing on the anchorage is for free in whole Caribbean. Prices of moorings are different on each island, mostly the price is arround 10 EUR per night and boat.

Currency – the currency on Martinique, Guadeloupe and French part of St. Martin is Euro. On the other island you can pay with US dollars or with local EC dollars (XCD), which you can change directly in place. You can safely draw your money from cash machines as well, which are very frequent and accessible on all the islands. Paying with credit cards (VISA, MC, AMEX) is also profitable, the cards are fully accepted within all islands.

Safety – there are no tropical diseases and no poison animals living on the islands. The vaccinations are not necessary or obligatory. Regarding the criminality, it varies, but it not high definitely. Though you have to take care of your personal things and respect captain´s instructions and experienced guides. Respecting the captain´s instructions during the whole time is vital for safe sail. The boat is equipped with all accessible and standard safety devices for life-saving. You are obliged to inform the captain on your actual health condition and sign the statement before the sail begins. It is a necessary rule in order to increase your safety.

Seasickness – it is a state, which can happen to everybody, but there is no reason for being unduly afraid. The seasickness is a short-term disposition and doesn´t develop every time. If you felt sick in the car or in the bus in past, it would feel similar. You can prevent it efficiently by using drugs like Kinedril, Nokinal or Torekan, which are available in every pharmacy shop.
